TERRARIUM - 707

Located in Dubai, the project is part of a residential complex on Palm Jumeirah. Situated on the 7th floor, it offers a wide view of the city skyline, framed by a balcony that lines the entire length of the apartment.

The initial configuration of the apartment included three bedrooms, each with its own bathroom, and an extended living area with a library. Together with the client, we decided to convert one of the bedrooms into an office, adapting the layout to a more flexible way of living.

The area initially intended as a library, treated in the plan as an extension of the living room, was replaced with a mineral terrarium filled with cacti. This decision became the starting point of the entire design, guiding all later choices and turning the terrarium into a focal point that brings a fragment of the exterior landscape indoors.

Following a minimalist direction, the proposed design is built around iconic furniture pieces and lighting fixtures that define the space without overwhelming it, giving it a timeless character in contrast to the decorative aesthetic typical of the area. Defined by low-height volumes and neutral tones, the living area uses travertine to bring all elements together into a coherent composition.

The master bedroom was also configured slightly differently from the original plan, with the dressing area removed and repositioned behind the bed, creating a direct visual connection to the bathroom.

Our design is not limited to a functional resolution of the space but becomes an interior sanctuary where materials, light, and objects define a clear, balanced atmosphere, deeply connected to the way the space is inhabited. The project was made possible by an openness to ideas and a genuine interest in design, which allowed a clear, uncompromising vision to take shape around a set of essential decisions.
