VORA SPA RETREAT

Situated along the Albanian Riviera south of Dhërmi, this project withdraws into the limestone slope of Jalë Bay rather than imposing upon it – a retreat shaped by the same logic of shelter and enclosure that defined the cove for centuries.

Interiors follow a mineral palette of travertine, lime plaster, warm wood, and natural leather, held in close tonal ranges across every space. In the Reception and Breakfast Area, a curved travertine bar anchors the room, surrounded by brown leather banquettes, slender metal chairs, and a ceiling of micro-recessed light points that dissolve the boundary between surface and atmosphere.
The Spa unfolds as a sequential thermal experience, from salt chamber to heat dome, cryotherapy vault, and circular floatation pool, ascending finally to an open sunset terrace facing the curve of the bay.

The Deluxe Room is organized around a circular bed platform, set within a composition of vertical timber paneling, full-height linen drapery, and monolithic stone basins. The bathroom introduces a freestanding travertine tub and recessed light planes that read as depth rather than illumination.

The Standard Room works with the same palette at a quieter register: a low platform bed with upholstered headboard, a linear wood element integrating bedside and washbasin surfaces, and a softly contoured mirror that marks the threshold without breaking spatial continuity.
Throughout, the material logic remains consistent: limestone, plaster, linen, wool, olive oak. Nothing added beyond what the space requires.
